    "Challenge Bahrain" triathlon championship launches official website, social media accounts

    Manama, Sept. 23. (BNA) --The Organising Committee of the "Challenge Bahrain" international triathlon championship, which will take a place on December 6, has launched its official website and various social media accounts in the aim of further promoting all news related to the event, which is being held in cooperation with Challenge International Organisation and the Nasser bin Hamad Foundation.

    By logging on to, all those interested in the event will get to know the latest news.

    Meanwhile, social media accounts have been opened on Facebook (, Twitter (, YouTube ( and Instagram (@ChallengeBahrain).

    Samira Al Bitar, the social networking in-charge of "Challenge Bahrain", said that the organising committee, in accordance with the directives of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports President and Bahrain Olympic Committee Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, deems to launch an official website and social networking accounts to maximise publicity for the event, which includes swimming, cycling and running.

    In addition, these platforms will help achieve one of the occasion's main goals, which is to make Bahrain the home of triathlon in the Middle East.

    Al Bitar noted that daily news of the championship will be posted on the official website and social networking accounts, in addition to broadcasting all the events live. She pointed out that the news will be published and edited by the media committee of the global event to assure the latest developments during the current stage will be available to the public, with the focus on the most important news related to "Challenge Bahrain".

    Al Bitar added that the website and all social networking accounts will publish the results of the triathlon and each of its stages, in addition to posting photos and video clips of the event and the most prominent official statements by officials.

    Meanwhile, the organizing committee of the championship had adopted earlier the route of the championship, which features different legs in swimming, cycling and running.

    There is full coordination of the event with the various relevant authorities, as the swimming competition will be held in Bahrain Bay for a distance of 1.9kilometres. This will be followed by cycling competition for a distance of 90kilometres, to be launched from the Gulf of Bahrain and going through Shaikh Isa causeway heading to Amwaj Islands and passing through Prince Khalifa Causeway, then Al Fateh Mosque, Sheraton Hotel, the Hamad Town Highway and on Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

    The championship will end with a run along the surrounding areas of Bahrain International Circuit for a distance of 21.1kilometres.
